Frequently asked questions

Who is it for?

For skin that prefers simplicity.

This soap is ideally suited for sensitive, congested, or oily skin types that need effective cleansing without harsh synthetic chemicals.
Those who react to synthetic detergents (SLS) and fragrances found in mass-market "simple" soaps.
We use essential oils not fragrance oils.

People looking to reduce the amount of plastic usage.

How to use

Its not complicated! First, step in the shower and get yourself wet - then choose your shower bar and rub between your hands to create a luxurious lather and then massage over your skin. You can also use a loofah or flannel/washcloth to help distribute the lather over your skin. Make sure you rinse off the soap lather thoroughly with water.

Place your favourite shower bar somewhere dry so that it will last longer. Avoid leaving your bar in standing water or constantly under running water.

About the product

Most "soaps" in the store aren't actually soap—they are chemical detergents. Cold process soap is made by mixing oils and lye, which triggers a natural chemical reaction called saponification.

  • Natural Glycerin: In mass-market soaps, the glycerin (a natural humectant that pulls moisture into the skin) is often stripped out to be sold separately in expensive lotions. In cold process soap, the glycerin stays in the bar, making it naturally moisturizing.
  • The "Cure" Time: Cold process soap is "cured" for 4–6 weeks. This evaporation process makes the bar harder and longer-lasting, ensuring you get a dense, creamy lather rather than a mushy mess.
  • No Synthetic Foaming Agents: It doesn’t rely on SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate) to create bubbles. The lather comes from the natural fats, like coconut or olive oil.

Biodegradable: Unlike liquid body washes filled with microplastics and synthetic thickeners, cold process soap is fully biodegradable.

Zero Waste: It usually comes in paper packaging (or none at all), helping to "ditch the plastic bottle."

While charcoal deep-cleans, the cold process method allows for "super-fatting." This means extra oils are added so that even though the charcoal is working hard, the soap leaves a protective thin layer of oil behind.

Travel-Friendly: It’s a solid! No worrying about "3-ounce liquid rules" at the airport or messy leaks in a gym bag.

A Note on Appearance

Because our soap is handcrafted in small batches using the traditional cold-process method, no two bars are exactly alike. When your order arrives, you may notice slight variations from the product photography. This is a hallmark of truly artisanal soap!
